Paranormal Claim of Health Perceptions
- Vision From Feeling

My website is about my unusual experience of perceiving automatic visual and felt images that depict the inside of people's bodies and their health, my experience of their interesting correlation with the actual health of people, and the investigation I am doing to find out whether there truly is a correlation and to learn more about the perceptions. It is a controversial and provocative subject to many, but to me it is a worthy and interesting topic of investigation. I experience feeling vibrational patterns in things, that translate into visual images, which is why I call it Vision From Feeling.

I am not psychic.
I do not claim to be psychic.
I do not offer psychic readings.
I do not take any money for any psychic services.

What I have is a paranormal claim.
It is an interesting experience that I have.
I investigate that experience.
I investigate it with an open mind.
I expect to falsify the claim.
Which means to find out that there is nothing paranormal to it.
And to find a normal explanation instead.
I investigate the claim in the skeptical method.
I engage with skeptics and conduct skeptical tests of my claim.

My goal is not to make money off my claim.
I do not make any money off my claim.
Instead I have paid so far exceeding $2,500 USD of my own money to investigate my claim.
I am not after attention or admiration.
My claim must be seen for what it is, impersonal of who I am.
I am not a liar.
I am not a fraud.
I am not delusional.
My claim is based on a genuine visual experience, but not necessarily paranormal nor based on our mutual reality.
I evaluate that claim based on test results only.

My testing so far has not confirmed some psychic ability.
My test results have been interesting enough to indicate the need for further testing to find out more about the extents of what I can do and what it is.
I do not believe in the paranormal.
But I consider the unknown.

I am a Skeptic with a paranormal claim.

Me and JREF's Jeff Wagg have a talk about whether or not I should continue with this investigation and whether to have another test. We also wonder what the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle sounds like. Jeff is unpacking after his move so that is all the noise you are hearing. From 03-25-2010.
.
Well the whole thing is available now, but I am looking for another format.
Not an official statement by the JREF, just a private conversation between me and Jeff.
Jeff Wagg is not necessarily in agreement with the views I express on this website.

"So how is it being with a bunch of skepticals?" - a friend of mine asked me one day

Paranormal Investigation
I have had the experience of perceiving visual and felt health information for many years now but two years ago I mailed in the application to the Independent Investigations Group (IIG) of Hollywood asking to have a paranormal test of my claim with them. For more than a year we were involved in protocol negotiations working to design the test protocol. I was not quite sure of what test conditions I could agree to since I had no experience of doing this with a screen between me and the persons, for instance. When I had my first meeting with the local Forsyth Area Critical Thinkers (FACT) Skeptics Group they helped me realize that I need to learn more about my claim and how it works before a test can be designed, so that is when I embarked on a study into my paranormal claim. The study was to give me more experience with the medical perceptions and with checking for their accuracy and with testing out various test conditions and use increasingly more controlled and test-like conditions and generally to learn more about the claim. The study could have falsified the paranormal claim if it would have shown that the medical perceptions are mostly inaccurate, or that the medical perceptions mostly work on information that one could have found by normal as opposed to paranormal means, such as clues based on a person's body posture or appearance, whether done intentionally or unintentionally.

For several months I worked on the study. The study ended up involving three individual readings with local FACT Skeptics, and a larger-scale First Study that involved readings with five volunteers from the public, accompanied by Skeptics. I was intending to have a second larger-scale study, but they are difficult to set up and get going. But then I realized that I already had come across a specific type of health information that would be perfect for both my purposes and for the test: the claim of detecting which of persons is missing a kidney. The Study was completed, and the IIG Preliminary Demonstration was held in November 21 2009.

The experience I have of seeing images of human tissues automatically appear in my mind, and with often surprising accuracy, could lead some who might have this experience to immediately assume that the images are real and based on actual information obtained from the surroundings. I do not make that assumption. I already experience many forms of synesthesia, for instance I see a color associated to the abbreviated forms of chemical elements, and it is important to remain open-minded. I am applying skepticism and the scientific method to find out what my medical perceptions are. And if the claim of medical perception is falsified, I will be one of the first former psychic claimants to set a valuable example of promoting the scientific method and conclusion of their claimed unusual experience. I failed to acchieve three correct answers in the IIG test and so did not meet the requirements of the IIG Preliminary Demonstration. Meanwhile I maintain that there are reasons to have another test, even if only for a more conclusive falsification of the claim, and not to challenge the results of this test. Read reasons here and here.

Investigation #1 - Medical Perceptions
When I look at people, I see images in my mind of the inside of their bodies. I see organs, tissues, cells, and chemicals, and even what I call the vibrational level inside the atoms. Not only pictures, I also feel things. I feel texture, density, temperature, and more, and I can feel the pain and discomforts that others have. This in itself is perhaps nothing out of the ordinary. It could be a form of automatic imagination. But what I find remarkable, is that when I describe what I see, I confirm a very good correlation between what I have seen and with what is actually there. I am now conducting this investigation to find out if the correlation is in fact as good as it has seemed to be, and also what is the source of the information and more about how it works. I have known health information that I shouldn't have been able to know, such as what a person ate, internal cysts, a formerly broken skull and a kidney being missing.

The images appear on any level of magnification. Starting from the same size as if we were looking at it with our eyes. But also deeper beyond, to see the structure of tissues. Or cells. And the molecular and atomic level, and then the vibrational level, which I believe is what all things are made of. I believe that what I am detecting is this vibrational level which I detect by the sense of feeling and from a distance without having to touch it, somewhat like when we can feel temperature as heat waves that travel across distance. At least so it seems.

In my perception, atoms consist of this vibration. It is a structured wave, vibration, colorful movement, that then builds up into pictures and felt information in my awareness. I believe that I feel this vibration in great detail, and that in my mind these vibrational structures then build upwards into images of the atoms that they make, and then into images of molecules, cells, and tissue. So in a sense, I call this Vision from Feeling. When I perceive these images, interesting information is highlighted by feeling out of balance, or looking crooked in the felt outline. Anything unusual, especially health problems, are also what most often form the images. The images that form on their own show health problems in their most appropriate level of magnification, sometimes combining more than one magnification at once and several angles at the same time.

The vision is in actual, natural color. Much of the inside of the body is in pink, orange and red. Images are three-dimensional and often perceived from many angles at once, from the front, behind, up, down, left and right at the same time. So images are not constructed from the sides that I am facing only. Although the inside of the body is dark, and a light source needs to be attached to optical instruments that are inserted into the body in medicine, my vision of tissues is bright and clear, and not surrounded by darkness.

When I choose to use my ability I take one look at the object I will be viewing and I tend to then look to the side, look away entirely or to close my eyes because once I've located where the information will be coming from, most often I no longer need to see the object and I begin to feel the many components of distinct feeling that are within it, which connect into color, shape, and structure... all the way into very clear pictures of human tissue. Synesthesia? Or extrasensory perception? I still don't know. To me the answer is not quite obvious. I've had some very interesting accurate perceptions, and so far I haven't produced a single verified inaccurate perception yet!

It is not just a picture, the vision is in real-time motion. I can watch the contractions and movement in organs and tissue, the flow of body fluids, and the movement and transportation of cells and chemicals.

The perceptions do not only produce vision. The same vibration that is translated into visual information also reveals details of temperature variations in the body, pressure for instance from blood pushing against blood vessel walls, weight of structures which can be translated into an understanding of "amount", and sometimes even taste and scent. For instance I can taste muscle, and perceive a scent of the brain.

Illness, such as cysts or pain, and other imperfections such as the presence of toxic substances in the body or nutritional deficiencies, are highlighted in my visual perception of the body, and appear as a feeling of "heavier" vibration, "darker areas", or as a feeling of "dissonance" in that area, and all parts of the body affected by the disease are highlighted together, even though many illnesses affect several separate parts of the body and on different levels of magnification. This is similar to but beyond magnetic resonance imaging used by the medical field to detect some forms of illness that show as darker areas on a photographic image. I do not have to look for diseases, they are already highlighted for me to see, with all the relevant structures and areas of the body shown together. And in my experience, I "see" by "feeling"!

With the images also comes an understanding of what I am perceiving. I can relate to the purpose of shapes and structure on larger scale such as bones and also on smaller scale as chemicals. I can read where things are headed and how changes in the body will unfold. I detect many of what I call "precursors" for diseases that can be present before the problem has become severe enough to be considered an illness, such as breast cancer precursors, and the very common diabetes precursor.

I perceive much more than just medical or health perceptions from people, even though those are the only forms of perceptions that I am now studying. I also perceive a "vibrational aspect" as I call it as well as color in association to the letter abbreviations of the chemical elements, and color association to Physics variables. One of my favorite experiences is with the scent of flowers. This perception comes about even when I am inside a car or building and looking at the flowers through window glass, so I think that actual scent is not what triggers this experience of scent. Also I perceive it as if I am feeling the scent molecules, that then translate into very bright perception of a beautiful scent! In this way I even perceive very strong and wonderful scent of flowers that none of us, not even I, can smell with our noses! It is an incredible experience and I'm glad I have it, regardless of whether it is depicting actual information or is simply a personal synthetic experience in my own mind, who doesn't like the scent of flowers?

Here is a page where I list specific examples of various types of medical perceptions, and try to think about under what circumstances they occured. This is part of the study, for me to have some experience with readings and to learn more about what this claim is. These tend to be unplanned events, and only take place with friends and family or skeptics as the volunteers, and I do not engage strangers in readings in order to avoid possible harm to persons who receive unlicensed health information, whether that information be accurate or inaccurate I have no business giving people health information. But with people I know, or just met who will be in my life as friends, it is easy to ensure that they are not harmed. And skeptics are expected to not take any of my readings seriously anyway, so they are fine as well. I do not do readings on people outside of this study and if they are not acquaintances to me or skeptics.
Here it is: Medical Perceptions Made.

Investigation #2 - Migraine Healing Claim
There are only two paranormal claims that I am currently investigating, and I am investigating those Skeptically. The first is still ongoing, and is my own claim of medical perceptions. And this other is a claim made by a man who received from me an attempted treatment for his migraines, and he is claiming a dramatic improvement in his condition, coinciding with the time of the attempted treatment, and of an extent that can only make this a claim of the paranormal, perhaps. So it is his claim, not mine. I remain highly skeptical and in disbelief to his this claim of his, and that is why I am having an investigation into this and am looking to find Skeptics with migraines to participate as volunteers to receive such an attempted treatment. I am fully prepared to allow this claim to be falsified, and hoping to learn more about Skeptical investigation and about paranormal claims of the healing kind, in the process. If you, or someone you know (not children or the elderly), suffers from migraines and you would like to see this kind of claim looked into, please let me know at brightstar@visionfromfeeling.com. Read more about this investigation at migraines.html.

Different types of perceptions
This webpage is mainly about the perceptions I have of human health information. Out of all the different types of perceptions I have, health information occurs most frequently and most clearly. The perceptions in themselves are not interesting to me, because plenty of people perceive things that are subjective or even imaginary on their part, but what makes me interested in my perceptions is that I've experienced what appears to be good correlation between my perceptions and actual information of our real, mutual world! This, again, is in itself not very interesting either, since plenty of health information can be deduced by skills of cold reading. For instance, just by looking at a person, their body posture, the way they move, facial expressions, their eyes, skin color, and lots more, can provide externally detectable clues about their internal health condition. Also, there are plenty of people who are skilled at guessing their way to seemingly correct answers, by first of all making vague and open comments and by communicating with the person they are reading they can work their way to appearing accurate. Also, if a person counts their hits and doesn't report their misses, or doesn't acknowledge or doesn't remember their misses, then their accuracy would appear higher than it actually is. There are many ways to appear to be better than what is actually the case. I am sincere and have done what I can to guard my results from such influence, but there is only so much a person can do on their own and I am now involving skeptics and science students in tests where the actual accuracy, and the source of the information, can better be determined, and be determined by others, without involuntary and unintended influence from me as the subject. By the way I make specific perceptions, not vague, and I use no speaking between me and persons. And I am now working on having a series of studies where I attempt the medical perceptions under increasingly controlled conditions that disable cold reading sources. I am already at the stage of knowing that I can look at the persons from behind and that I do not need or use eyecontact!

Besides perceiving images and felt information (texture, shape, temperature, density, weight, and more) of health information from human bodies, I also have other types of perceptions but much less often and in less detail and I have much less experience with them than I do with medical perceptions. I want to primarily test the perceptions on the detection of health information that should not be accessible to ordinary perception. It is with health information I have chosen to test my ability to find out what its actual accuracy is, and whether I might be able to verify an extrasensory ability. Some of the other aspects of the perceptions, I can very clearly sense people's emotions, and know how others are feeling. I will know what people think about me. I can sense the gist of people's thoughts, and sometimes hear the words that they are thinking. I have done telepathy exercises with friends with amazing results. A fun game of mine is telepathy: I have a friend to whom I will send a telepathic image. I will give him the category, my favorite category is animals. I will construct a clear image in my mind and send it to him. Animals have shape and size, but so much more. The texture of their skin, feathers, fur, or scales of fish or reptiles. I strengthen the image by adding a lot of feeling into it. The friend will then describe the animal and (unless either of us becomes tired) we are almost always correct. It is such a fun game.

I sense the bodies and health of animals, plants, and other organisms as well. Including bacteria. I love to see the cylinder-shaped bacteria, they are very beautiful to look at. On microscopic photographies they often have dull colors, but when I see them they are bright neon orange or red. I can clearly see Helicobacter pylori, which is the bacteria that can cause stomach ulcers. In fact, years ago a relative of mine had stomach ulcers. I described the red bacteria with arms that I saw in the stomach, and this was before I had learned that this bacteria actually looks like that and causes the ulcers. I can also clearly see the friendly Lactobacillus bacteria that people take in the form of a supplement to balance their digestive system.

I sense information about foods. I can taste a food just by looking at it, which is great fun. When a friend of mine eats ice-cream I ask if I can watch him eat it. I turn away and only look at the side of his neck and do not see when he eats it or what type of flavors, and I can actually feel the cold, the texture, the sweet, the taste, through him. Almost as if it were me eating it. I get the experience without the calories.

The vibrational information that I feel is sometimes also translated into scent, although this is one of its rarest expressions. The only things from the human body that I have experienced translated to scent are the stomach, and the brain. The stomach sometimes smells like some type of sausage or actually exactly like hydrochloric acid (which I've experienced in the chemistry lab to know what it smells like). The brain sometimes has the scent of a forest floor covered in mushrooms, moss and dew. Different chemicals are also associated with a scent, especially the sugar galactose. To me these seem to be very typical expressions of synesthesia. But I am still interested in exploring whether the correlation between my medical perceptions to our real, mutual world can be confirmed in a test setting to be as good as they have seemed to be in my everyday experience.
