An Example of Exaggeration

April 1 2010, and no, this isn't an April Fools Day joke. So Jim Carr/UncaYimmy is having fun posting for dear life in the JREF Discussion Thread VFF to Appear on Rational Alchemy. I am currently suspended from posting on the JREF Forums because I hoped that a member (who is not UncaYimmy) who made false and insulting accusations against me would work in history or basket weaving and not science, since I am thinking of applying to the university where he/she works and do not find it scientific to state false assumptions as fact without the slightest humble openness to the possibility of being wrong, although perhaps such behavior is a commodity when you are working in the creative and abstract sciences of art or philosophy. Anyhow, in response to UncaYimmy's latest outburst as found in post #205 of that thread, I thought I would post the entire e-mail in question, rather than let you rely on Jim's convenient excerpt and his personal interpretations and so that you can form your own ideas of what this fuss is all about:

Dear Jim Carr,

It seems there is some confusion regarding the two recent audio recordings that both appeared around the same time.

On the 24th I did a radio interview with Brian, Jeff and Nigel over Skype, and Brian recorded this chat for us. I did not record any of our conversation on that day, nor did I then have the software required to do so.

Since Brian, Jeff and Nigel seemed to be somewhat tolerant of my continued interest in pursuing my claim and its investigation, I was left somewhat puzzled after our interview, and so on the following day, on the 25th, I called up Jeff, to have a serious talk about the falsification or validity of my claim in the aftermath of the IIG test.

At first I attempted to contact you, but you were not available for this so I had my skeptical chat with Jeff instead. And on that day, the 25th, I purchased a software program that allows you to record a Skype conversation. I then asked Jeff if I may record our conversation, and he says yes. My asking of whether I may record it, and his answer, both appear at the very beginning of this recording. I later also asked whether I may post our conversation on my website, received permission from Jeff, and so I posted this on my website.

So, there are two recent but different recordings. The radio show, available at http://rational-alchemy.com/, recorded by Brian and only Brian. And the informal chat between me and Jeff which was totally unrelated to either rational alchemy or JREF, recorded by me and only me, and made available on my website at http://www.visionfromfeeling.com/paranormalclaim.html

So, I hope that clears out some of the confusion that arose as two separate recordings appeared around the same time.

Please do not degrade yourself by replying in your usual manner of "do not contact me unless it is through an attorney". My letter to you here is intended to answer some of the questions you have posed, and to help explain and clear out the matter, for your own convenience above all. And so I see no reason for you to interpret this as harassment against you, as I clearly only mean well.

Anita Ikonen / VFF

Harassment, Jim Carr? I was merely answering your questions and clearing out some of your confusion. Perhaps get a second opinion from a lawyer as to whether my friendly e-mail qualifies as harassment, and you do know there is a simple little thing where you can block an e-mail address, the same way you block advertisements and other letters that you are not interested in, such as truth and clarification.
